MORPHOMETRY AND NECROPSY RESULT: 2.6m, 250-300kg. adult female Risso's Dolphin (Grampus griseus) beached in Del Gallego, Cam Sur on Aug1, 2015. Inflamed lymph nodes near ear area, an indication of having an infection. Ear bones still intact and presumed on normal condition, previous hypothesis of acoustic trauma from blast fishing can not be ascertained. Digestive system totally empty without ulceration or parasites. The animal might not have eaten for the past days and might have suffered from hunger and dehydration. No indication of drowning while stranded. Mammary glands still producing milk, an indication that the dolphin is lactating. Was hypotized that the calf that stranded in Brgy. Aldavoc, Tagkawayan, Quezon is its offspring. The calf however was not seen since its successful release by LGU Tagkawayan team. Necropsy process covered by ABS-CBN Bicol in BFAR 5 while on-site response was covered by GMA News in Sta. Rita Island Resort in Del Gallego. Necropsy conducted by Doc Evelyn Saberon, BFAR 5's resident veterinarian. Bones will be exhumed few months later for display in Sta. Rita Island Resort.
